Red Deer-North
Red Deer-North
Red Deer-North is a provincial riding in Alberta which extends from 50 (Ross) St. on the south, to the City of Red Deer limits on the north, east, and west sides.
The district was originally created in the 1986 boundary redistribution and was entirely an urban district until 2004. It was then that a small area outside of the city was included in the boundaries, including the Town of Blackfalds. However, the change only lasted until 2017, and the riding now fits squarely within the City of Red Deer limits.
It is bordered by the ridings of Lacombe-Ponoka, Innisfail-Sylvan Lake and Red Deer-South, and fits within the federal riding boundaries of Red Deer-Lacombe.
Adriana LaGrange currently serves as the MLA and was first elected in 2019. She was preceded by Kim Schreiner who served from 2015-2019. Other MLAs to represent the riding include Stockwell Day (1986-2000), and Mary Anne Jablonski (2000-2015).
